Christina Dunnington.

About 

Born and raised in Hamilton, New Jersey, Christina has been dancing since she was a young girl. At the age of sixteen, she began her serious training at the Central New Jersey Ballet Theatre, where she performed in many classical ballets.

 

As of May 2019, Christina graduated from Towson University with a B.F.A in Dance Performance and Choreography, and a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. During her time at Towson, she has been able to train under the direction of Linda Denise Fisher-Harrell, Runqiao Du, Susan Mann, Catherine Horta-Hayden, and Quilan “Cue” Arnold. Upon graduation, she received the "Technical Excellence" award from the Towson University Department of Dance. 

 

Christina has had the opportunity to perform every semester during her time at Towson. As a freshman, she was given the opportunity to train and perform  with ZviDance, under the direction of Zvi Gotheiner himself. Christina has also had the chance to perform a piece

created by a Towson alum at the “Come Together Dance Festival” in Philadelphia, curated by Ronen Koresh. She has been a featured Towson University Dance Company member, where she was able to perform as Nikiya, in the restaging of La Bayadereand Odette, in the restaging of Swan Lake. She has also performed pieces by Will B. Bell, Lizhu Chen, Amy Hall Garner, Therese Gahl, Peter Pucci, Alison Seidenstricker, Malcolm Shute, Vincent Thomas, and Runqiao Du. Christina has recently performed as a guest artist with ASEID under the direction of Alison Seidenstricker, alongside Deep Vision Dance Company. Additionally, she was a featured dancer in ADDICT, created by Madeline Maxine Gorman, that benefited a Baltimore non-profit called the Helping Up Mission. More recently, Christina just finished up her time as a company member with Vanessa Long 2 Dance Company in Philadelphia. Christina has attended the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago summer intensive, as well as completing an administrative internship with AileyCamp Baltimore. 

Christina has been honored to showcase her choreography at a number of festivals and showcases. Some of these include: Project Moshen's Artistry Unfolded in Philadelphia; The Collective's Open Marley Night in Baltimore; Vanessa Long 2 Dance end of season showcase in Philadelphia; The Ascending Choreographer's Festival in Edgewood, MD; and Bailar al Sol in Asbury Park, NJ. 

Christina recently accepted a job with Philadelphia's premier contemporary ballet company, BalletX, as their new Development & Communications Coordinator. She is so excited to start her career in Arts Administration in such an amazing city!
